Foodshed Cafe

The Foodshed Café is an extension of the Great Basin Community Food Co-op. While the community-owned grocery store (the only one in Nevada) exists to simultaneously support local food and provide nourishing wholefood options for its customers, the café exists to further that mission and expand the market for our farmers and ranchers.

*Please note any orders placed after 2:30 PM will be made to go.

Local Food Based on Our Watershed

The Great Basin Community Food Co-Op and the Foodshed Café define local as being produced
within our foodshed (which is strategically and environmentally supported by our watershed).
While the specific farms and ranches providing ingredients for the menu will ebb and flow based on availability and seasonality, the Foodshed Café will regularly update our menu so diners know exactly whom to thank for the food they’re enjoying. A few of the main producers (of 38 and counting) include: Snowball Ranch (Eureka, NV), Holley Family Farms (Dayton, NV), Kool Kids Ranch (Spanish Springs, NV), and Prema Farm (Bordertown,NV/CA), Little Frog Farm (Reno, NV) to just name a few. At the Foodshed Café you’ll also find NO CITY Coffee, including espresso and lattes, served with housemade almond mylk or organic Straus whole milk.
