Hulsman Ranch Needs Your Help!
The recent Sheep Fire in Susanville destroyed 75% of Hulsman Ranch, including their beautiful 1800s hay barn, the corrals, mangers, and many stretches of fencing. Thankfully their home and animals were saved. Insurance will only cover a fraction of the cost to rebuild.
Our co-op has worked with Hulsman Ranch for over a decade--sourcing the highest quality grass fed/finished beef and lamb. Hannah Tangeman (ranch owner and manager) and her family are some of the most wonderful people, with top notch land and animal stewardship practices. The majority of Hulsman Ranch is set up as a conservation easement, and sits at the base of the Diamond Mountains. Sadly, many of the trees also burned. Hannah told us if she could trade the rest of her structures to get the mountain trees back, she would.
