2012 Election Results
The votes are in! More than 150 member-owners voted either on-line or in the store in the annual election for the Board of Directors. We want give a big THANK YOU to everyone who participated and especially to our four amazing candidates: Dagny Stapleton, Skye Telka, Chris Moore, and Kara Bunting.
The election was close but in the end Chris and Dagny received the most amount of votes and they will fill the two open seats. A third seat unexpectedly opened up last week after one of the current board members decided to step down from the board, and Skye has kindly agreed to fill that position. Thanks Skye, and thank you all GBCFC board members – past, current, and new – for your service to our co-op.
New Location for Board Meetings
Monthly board meetings will be held upstairs in the co-op’s community café from now on. All member-owners are welcome to observe board meetings, which are held every third Monday of the month at 6 pm. The next board meeting will be on October 15. For more information about member-owner participation in meetings and in other aspects of co-op governance, please visit the Board of Directors section of the co-op website.
 
How to Cook & Love Vegetables, Class No. 2: Zucchini Succotash
When: October 6, 2012  2:00-3:30
Description:  New to cooking veggies? Want to know what veggies are grown locally? Come for a quick, free shopping tour of the veggie department with local vegetarian cookbook co-author & co-op kitchen staff, Melissa Gilbert.  Tour will be followed by an hour long cooking class with a focus on knife skills & simple, inexpensive easy to prepare vegetable dishes, this week, the noble zucchini.
For the class please bring your own medium to large size knife, everything else will be provided.
