Announcing upcoming workshops at GBCFC
Shape-Note Singing Workshop
TONIGHT November 5, 5-7pm
Shape-note singing is a living American folk tradition practiced for over two centuries; it is a community event where people come together to sing for pleasure. Though originally kept alive in the rural South for generations, nowadays communities across the States still sing this style of music.
In this introductory workshop, we will sing from The Sacred Harp, a tunebook in continuous publication since 1844. The music is written in a cappella four-part harmony; the singing is raw, exuberant, & loud. There is no musical experience required; the basics of reading shape-note music will be taught. Come participate!

French Gastronomie Workshop with Galilea

GALILEA invites you to participate in a demonstration of how to refine your taste and enhance your life with the sensuous pleasures of the table, and to discuss your interest in becoming part of a culinary circle at Great Basin Community Food Co-op.
Featuring:

• The principle of diversity in your garde manger (happy pantry)
• Fundamentals of food pairing
• The tastes of world cuisine
• The renewal of the traditions of the world table
• Conviviality as the base of a new gastronomy

How to have a Gluten-Free Holiday workshop
